The web, is comprised of many computers all networked together. For your site to be live on the web, you must rent space on one of these computer to store your website files. The computer you rent space from is known as your website "server". The owner of the server is know as your website "host", or hosting company.

Prices are generally per month, with a minimum of $5 a month all the way up to $250 a month depending on your site's requirements. Signing Up for Hosting

Trust your website designer to host your site with a reputable company. The website designer will know what your specific hosting needs are. They will also have experience working with different hosts. This process is best left to them. Some website designers also offer hosting services.

If You Sign Up For Hosting

Be sure to forward any information the hosting company sends to you, to your website designer. Specifically they will need what is called "FTP information" to upload your site files to your host.
